To whom it may concern:
I'm so blessed that the man of my dreams, the love of my life, asked me to marry him. I'm so lucky that by some twist of fate, we found each other and that our life is so wonderful. I have privilege in that the United States government and the state of Wyoming view our love as worthy of a legal union. However, there are many other people, happy couples who have also been blessed and lucky to find that person who is the love of their lives also. And yet, by a cruel twist of fate, these happy couples are not allowed to have a legal union-a legal marriage-in their state in this country-which touts with great pride its stand behind the pillar and principle of freedom. Therefore, I am making a proposition. A post-proposal proposal. I propose that every likeminded person sign this petition that states every person has the right to marry the person they love, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, race, or religion in this free country.I believe this to be a true human rights issue. This petition will be sent to my state legislature, United States Congresswoman Lummis, Senator Barraso, Senator Enzi, and the office of President Barack Obama. We, the undersigned, believe that if we can stand up for the rights of everyone to love and legally commit to the people that they love, we will see a decrease in hatred, prejudice, and hate crimes. The more love is accepted and celebrated--legally!--the more hate will not be tolerated.Thank you for joining us in this campaign.Nichol Elder (Soon to be Nichol Bondurant) and Brent Bondurant

announcement/proposal
I propose that every likeminded guest at the wedding of Brent Bondurant and Nicki Elder in the summer of 2009 sign a petition that states every person has the right to marry the person they love, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, race, or religion in this "free" country.
I further propose that every other couple who has been as lucky as we are to find our truest of true loves will include a similar petition at their own weddings and commitment ceremonies.
I believe this to be a true human rights issue. I will send my petition to my state legislature, United States legislature, and the office of President Barack Obama.
I believe that if we can stand up for the rights of everyone to love and legally commit to the people that they love, we will see a decrease in hatred, prejudice, and hate crimes. The more love is accepted and celebrated--legally!--the more hate will not be tolerated.
Thank you for joining me in this campaign.
Nicki Elder, the future Nicki Bondurant.
